At 26, I’ve officially been kicked out of the ‘young person’ club—at least according to the National Trust and English Heritage (but seriously, I’m still young… right?). So, I figured it was time to broadcast my thoughts in a more permanent way. After three years of sharing my life in TikTok videos—think book hauls, lifestyle vlogs, and my journey as a wanna-be writer—I realised it was time to go deeper.
Cue the classic 20-something panic:
Career—am I on the right path? Will I ever have my dream job , or am I destined to forever switch it up once a week?
Relationships—Should I be engaged? Married? Parenting a tiny human (or at least a houseplant – scratch that. I killed the office houseplant at work a few months back. He was called Patches. RIP Patches)? Should my boyfriend and I be discussing IKEA furniture instead of weekend plans?
And when one thing finally feels like it’s under control, another RED ALERT hits out of nowhere, setting off full Inside Out chaos in my brain—like when Anxiety decides to slam the panic button and suddenly, the day is shot.
But hey, that’s life, right? At least I tell myself that while trying not to spiral again (for the fourth time today—but who’s counting?).
This blog? It’s really a love letter to little me—the one who always dreamed of being a writer. Crafting worlds, telling stories, imagining grand adventures. While I’ve been procrastinating on my fantasy novel for three years (I promise, it’s going to be epic), blogging feels like the first real step toward sharing that passion with the world. A toe in the water, as they say.
Life hasn’t exactly turned out the way I imagined. I have a degree, even a Master’s (so I guess I’m cool, right?), but I’m still living at home, working as someone else’s personal assistant (thought I’d have my own P.A. by now). My boyfriend and I are still a ways off from moving in together, but that’s just how it goes. And you know what? I’m a victim of the comparison thief, and he’s stolen more than I care to admit.
So, if you’re up for some real talk about life, a dash of bookish vibes, snippets of my fantasy-writer-in-progress journey, and perhaps some musings on history and politics, then stick around. And since I’m a Virgo, you can bet there’ll be plenty of autumn-themed content to celebrate my favourite season—think cosy reads, seasonal fun, and maybe a few rants about pumpkin spice lattes. I can’t promise it’ll always be smooth, but hey—life’s better when it’s a little messy. Let’s figure it out together.
